Preface
everywhere 90% of the Indian population is employed in the daily sector. For my trade union movement I had to interview self-employed businessman. In grouchy I was supposed to interview sandwich sellers. Sandwich sellers non only provide us with a fullsome meal, scarcely they are also nutritious. I interviewed 5 sandwich sellers, twain from North Mumbai as well as from South Mumbai. This gave me a variety in the different prices of the sandwiches as well as a trend in the income of each of them. In my project in particular, I have taken an average, when calculating the income, receipts and expenditure. It would have been next to impossible to take each and every one of them individually, in the number of pages allotted. Therefore in the calculations that I have made for the income, the revenue and the expenditure, I have taken an average of all the costs. This has allowed me to portray the larger picture.
When starting the project, I thought a lot whether or not to train to focus on sandwich sellers from the start or to hang on it more general. It made more sense to me, that for the first section, I would focus on Self-Employed Businessman as a whole and as the project progresses bring in more focus on Sandwich Sellers.
This would allow me to show what the whole picture is and then talk and analyse Sandwich sellers in particular. This worked very well for me.
