In 1630, the Puritans founded the Massachusetts bay colony to create a model Christian terra firma for others to emulate. However, fifty categorys later the Puritan movement was perilously in jeopardy of losing its following. Many of the youth had become disoriented from their parents lifestyles and beliefs and had become increasingly preoccupied with material pleasures and comfort.
