This is the floor plan of the cathedral at Pisa. The design is similar to the design of roman basilicas with a some new features. The most common was the shape of the grammatical construction: a saviourian Cross. After that the new Romanesque cathedrals had a few new layout ideas. in that respect was the ambulatory, which was where pilgrims could wander through the cathedral without interrupting the prayers of those wad in the church who were in attendance rather than touring it. There was also Aisles on either sides of the nave. In these Cathedrals the bell tower, or campenelli is built as a seperate building. The later Romanesque cathedrals had sm whole chapels all throughout the back of it for small rituals, and examples of the prayers that would take place in their church. A nonher new feature was the bapistery. This was another seperate building in which the baptisms would take place.

Romanesque sculpture is not nearly as Roman as the building on which it is found. Romanesque sculptures quality is signifigantly lower than the quality of its Gothic counterparts.

The skeletal powerful detail of the Romanesque piece is almost comical. The eyes are mounds with button wish pupils, the hands have three fingers, one of which is all flex out of shape, and a single thumb. Christs robes folds arent as foldy. They look bunched up, and too thick.
The Gotich Sculpture has far more detail, and not just because the picture has more of the sculpture in it. Christs robes folds look smooth and rolling in comparison to the Romanesque. The hair, and beard look much more like hair and beard rather than pinched clay rolls.
