Introduction
The internet- the network of networks has changed the search of global communication. It is a part of our lives and influences the way we behave. It has brought together different parts of the world and different market-gardenings together in ship canal neer possible before. An online culture that has been evolving alongside Facebook and Twitter is meshing memes.
We are all exposed to internet memes when we are online. Be it on social networking sites or on the hundreds of sites dedicated to memes. Internet memes have been around for 20 years but never been taken so seriously. There are very few attempts by academicians to interpret their growth, patterns and style. This paper will attempt to study the life of an internet meme- where do they come from? What do they de confinesine like? Why do they spread?
What is an Internet Meme?
The term Internet meme is actually the name of a sub-genre. It evolved from the word meme, which was coined by the famous evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins in his book The egotistical Gene in 1976. Meme is the short from mimeme which derives from the Greek word mimema.



It refers to the deed of ideas, behavior or style within a culture and their imitation and replication. A parallel can be cadaverous between memes and divisors. Wikipedia describes a gene as follows- Genes hold… selective information to build and maintain… cells and pass genetic traits to offspring. In opposite words, they contain information and they transfer information. Richard Dawkins explains further in The self-loving Gene -Just as genes propagate themselves in the gene pool by bouncing from body to body via sperms or eggs, so memes propagate themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain to brain via a process which, in the wide-eyed sense, can be called imitation.
